DERBY® Zinc + C is a supplementary feed for horses to compensate for a ration-related zinc deficiency. Due to its organic binding, the zinc is easily absorbed by the horse. Zinc is a component of over 200 enzymes and, as a cofactor, controls important metabolic processes such as the hormonal system and the immune system. While horses generally produce vitamin C naturally throughout the year, targeted supplementation with vitamin C ensures support of the immune system in every situation. Much more important and directly visible, however, is the contribution of zinc to cell regeneration in young horses and cell renewal in adult horses. Skin metabolism and coat growth are the most visible factors here.
